Our Philosophy

Our horses are our family, our friends and our life. We have more than 40 years of professional experience. We keep our horses in semi liberty, which means they are grazing freely anytime they aren’t on a tour or giving a lesson. We have 8 sweet and healthy horses, enough to ensure that we rotate horses and allow them to rest and stay healthy, without over exercising. Our main focus is providing our horses with the best possible care. We feed them after every ride and as often as needed to keep our horses fit and happy. We ensure our horses stay healthy by grooming and bathing them several times a day. We also worm them and check for parasites on a very regular basis. We believe in interacting with our horses always with the love way.

Our Horses

We have 7 RESCUED HORSES and we do all the possible efforts to offer them a better life. Most of horses are between 4 and 12 years old with only one sweet guy that we save from a really terrible destiny that is 15 years old. Our horses are Costa Rican, Quarter Horse, Quarab, Appaloosa breed. They are all very nice, sweet horses suitable for beginners, kids and also professionals riders. Because we care about horses well being, we have to set up the weight limit that is different for every horse. The general limit weight is 230lbs/104Kg for our 2 biggest friends.

All our saddles are imported from Europe and US, all in synthetic material that is lighter for the horses, respect the animals and also have a better durability in this difficult rain forrest weather.

We like to share our work with the local people and involve them in our activity, we hope to be able to transfer the love and respect for the horses to everyone.

We work hand in hand with the majority of the local hotels and tour operator, and we were able to build a great reputation from the quality of the service we offer and the visible love and care we have for the horses.

Location
Puerto Viejo is the largest tourist destination on the caribbean side on Costa Rica. It is known for its laid-back vibes, its beautiful beaches, and rasta influence. It attracts tourists from all over the world, looking to experience the village's many sides: a mix of Afro-Caribbean, Bribri Indian, tico cultures, and more recently the home of international hippies, this small port town is an anthropological experience!

Besides its multi cultural identity Puerto Viejo features 20 kilometers of stunning white-sand beaches and protected tropical vegetation due to its proximity to 2 national parks.  Nearby Cahuita National Park and Gandoca-Manzanillo National Wildlife Refuge offers visitors a chance to observe wildlife in its habitat, both terrestrial and maritime.

Caribe Horse is located about 2kms after town, on Cocles beach, on Ole Caribe road. To find us, take the turn right at Ole Caribe, and go up the road for about 800 meters.

The ranch has a private jungle path that will lead you to the beach, so you can enjoy the best of both world: the beach and the jungle!
