ABOUT US - CARIBE HORSE RIDING CLUB NEW LOCATION !! NOW ON THE BEACH !
Our Philosophy Caribe Horse was created in 2007 and has been growing ever since. The name is very well established among travelers and tourism operators for the quality of our services. In fact we are dedicated to offering you the best experience : best horses, best equipment and a knowledgeable, multi lingual and friendly guide. Horseback riding tours are our main source of income, but we also get involved with the local community by offering lessons for local kids at very affordable price. Caribe Horse changed owners in 2011, as a result we have a new location. In order to fit our standards, we chosed the best location : we are now able to offer our horses 10 hectares of pasture, enough to graze freely and make them happy! The ranch is right on the beach , allowing us to truly offer a beach ride without loosing time, and make our riders and horses happy! We keep our horses in semi liberty, they are grazing freely whenever we don´t use them for the tours or lessons. We have 12 horses, enough to rotate and allowing them to rest and be healthy without over exercising. Our main concern is to take the best care of our
horses.
They are given pellets after each ride, as well as every time they need.
We groom them and shower them several times a week, deworm and take
care of parasites on a very regular basis. We believe in a natural way
of interacting with them. It is called natural horsemanship. All our
horses are kept bare feet anytime it is possible. We use the
best trimming technics for healthier hooves.
Location Caribe Horse is now located between Punta Uva and Manzanillo, on Playa Grande. To find us, you will have to pass the Punta Uva community, on your way to Manzanillo. We are on the left hand side, 200m past the famous restaurant El Refugio, on the left side of the road. Our horses We have 11 horses and one foal. Some of them were rescued and finally are able to live a better live. Most of the horses are between 4 and 10 years old, young and fit. 2 of them are older and are used only rarely. We have smaller and very nice horses suitable for kids. All our horses are trained according to the
natural
horsemanship techniques of Parelli. They listen to the voice, tong
clicks, and do not fear most of the dangers we could
encounter : people playing ball games, dogs, or
cars… . What make the ride a better experience besides a
good
horse is a good equipment. All our saddles and material are imported
from Europe. They are lighter and more gentle for the horses as well as
more comfortable for the
We work hand in hand with the majority of the local hotels and tour operator, and the stable has earned a great reputation from the quality of its tours, horses, and material. About the owners Caribe Horse has 2 new owners : Amelie and Miguel. Originally from France, Amelie has a long love story with horses. She started horseback riding very young and grew up with it. Passionate, all her childhood and teenage time was spent around horses. of the place : it was the perfect combination between amazing beaches, generous nature and wildlife. The area is pristine enough, yet She naturally came to Costa Rica on a stop during the world trip she had begun several years before. Puerto Viejo seduced her by the natural beauty offers very good food and standard of living. It only took a few days to decide that the place was her paradise! Later on, she got to concretize a life long dream :
having her own ranch, which is nested
in a post card scenery surroundings, and if possible living from her
passion. Miguel, from Spain, is sharing his love of horses with his family. They live in Puerto Viejo, on the ranch property 6 months per year. Miguel has a life long experience with horses, and specializes in longer trail rides.

Puerto viejo
is a small town, with vibrant colors. It’s not a destination
for
everyone. It is very pura vida, jamaican and euro accent, people say
it is like a different country and a unique experience. Here people
wear a very friendly smile, and tourist feel differently than in the
rest of Costa Rica. Puerto Viejo has
gorgeous
pristine beaches, it is still a fisher man village, that seams like it
doesn’t want to go to bed with its many night hot spots, and
festivities.
